At the beginning of the season, I did not think I’d be listening to more Sacramento A’s radio (non-family division) than any other. The A’s are a nomadic group of cost-controlled really fun ballers who find themselves in first place.

“The Rays have swept the Yankees for the first time in eight years” Andy Freed said on WDAE.  “The first homestand at Tropicana Field in two years and it ends in a sweep.” 

“This guy has a no-no going into the seventh,” Sims said of Springs. 

The Yankees were scoreless and weak. 

“The outs aren’t even loud," Sims said of the run of strikeouts (eight), popups, and weak grounders. Aaron Judge went oh-for-four.

Baseball started the weekend with that new-season smell still in force. There were loads of home openers on Friday; circumstance and pomp reigned in Boston, Denver, Sacramento. It remains reasonable to say it’s early yet, if a team is scuffling.
